Football Betting Tips : Celtic have informally agreed personal terms with Yokohama F. Marinos manager Ange Postecoglou to become their new manager

Ange Postecoglou has verbally agreed to personal terms with Celtic; the Australian will take over as manager at Parkhead from Neil Lennon, who quit in February. Celtic are hoping to have Yokohama F. Marinos manager in place by July 5th, in time for pre-season training camp in Wales.

Celtic and Yokohama have already agreed on a compensation price for the 55-year-old, however the Japanese club has refused to comment on the situation.

Celtic will need UEFA clearance to employ Postecoglou, who does not possess the requisite Pro License, in addition to finalising agreements with Postecoglou and Yokohama.

The Scottish Premiership runners-up have appealed to the governing body for an exception, known as a’recognition of competence procedure,’ and are expected to have their application accepted due to Postecoglou’s 25 years in management.

Postecoglou has been in charge of Yokohama since February 2018, and the team won the Japanese championship the following year.

Celtic’s players will return to their Lennoxtown training facility on June 17 before departing for a nine-day training camp in Wales.

Three behind-closed-doors friendlies against Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic, and Bristol City will be part of the journey to Wales.

Celtic’s Champions League qualification matches, in which they will compete in the second qualifying round, are set to begin the week of July 19.
