Joe Montemurro, an Australian, has been named head coach of Juventus’ women’s squad, the Italian club announced on Tuesday.
The 51-year-old will take over the Italian champions on July 1 after leaving Arsenal’s women’s squad last month.
Montemurro joined Arsenal in November 2017 after coaching Melbourne City Women, who won the League Cup in 2018 and the Women’s Super League for the first time in seven years in 2019.
The last two seasons, Arsenal has finished third in the Premier League.
Montemurro, whose family is of Italian heritage, succeeds Rita Guarino, who had been the Turin-based team’s coach from its inception in 2017.
With Juve, Guarino won seven trophies: four Serie A crowns, the 2019 Coppa Italia, and two Italian Super Cup victories.
