Franck Ribéry is a French international footballer who currently plays for Bundesliga club Bayern Munich and the France national team. He is a left-sided winger who is known for his speed, enthusiasm, and accuracy passing. He can also dribble the ball well and “has terrific control with the ball at his feet.” Ribéry began his football career at the age of six, when he joined FC Conti de Boulogne-Sur-juvenile Mer’s division. He joined Lille, a professional team in the second division, in 1996, following seven years with the club. Ribéry played a key role in Fenerbahçe’s 5–1 victory against the club in the Turkish Cup final.In the 16th minute, he scored the game’s first goal and also assisted on another. Ribéry agreed to a five-year contract with Marseille on June 15, 2005. Ribéry made his debut in a 2–0 loss to Bordeaux on July 30, 2005. He scored his first goal for the club in a 2–1 victory against Troyes on September 17th. Ribéry had a strong showing in the Coupe de France, scoring a hat trick against Le Havre and scoring the first goal in Marseille’s 3–1 semi-final triumph over Rennes. The UEFA Cup is a competition in which teams compete against each other.He was named the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) Young Player of the Year after scoring one goal in the second leg of Marseille’s clash with Bolton Wanderers. During the 2006-2007 season, Ribéry was named French Player of the Year by French sports journal France Football. Bayern Munich signed Ribéry to a four-year contract for €25 million on June 7, 2007. He has won the double with Bayern twice, in the 2007–08 and 2009–10 seasons.Ribéry is a French international who has played in two FIFA World Cups and two UEFA European Football Championships for his country. Ribéry is a two-time French Player of the Year winner who has also won the German Footballer of the Year award, making him the first player to win both awards.
