Indian Cricket Team is going through a tough phase. Jasprit Bumrah & Deepak Chahar’s injury has disturbed the team a bit. Deepak has shown that he has good control over his line and length. Although, there is no official update yet on whether the pacer is out of the marquee event or not.
Shardul Thakur would consider himself unlucky. The right-arm pacer has got all the traits in him to be amongst the team. The bowler needs to work a bit more on his batting and try to make a way into the team as a batting all-rounder just like Hardik Pandya.
Shardul Thakur on ICC T20 World Cup 2022
Shardul Thakur was seen having a media interaction and was asked about his non-selection for the marquee tournament. “It’s okay I’m not selected this time. But there’s still a lot of cricket left and also there’s the ODI World Cup next year. My focus will be to do well in whatever matches I play and make winning contributions.” said Thakur.
Conundrum for Management
The Selection Panel & Management will need to have some long conversations as there’s only one week left before making any changes to the squad. Shami is trying hard to be fit but it looks unlikely that the pacer would be given a nod as he doesn’t have any T20I match practice.
Siraj can be the choice as Head Coach Rahul Dravid has worked closely with him during his India A Coaching Days. The right-arm pacer has got express pace and is very disciplined in his line & length. Avesh Khan may be the fast bowler for a tournament but he doesn’t have that much control over his line & length. In all this chaos, Skipper Rohit Sharma & Head Coach Rahul Dravid need to be smart as the role of 3rd seamer would be critical in T20 World Cup 2022.
