The injury of Jasprit Bumrah has been a huge blow to the team. The right-arm fast bowler would have been lethal in Australian conditions where he knows how to fox the batters. Indian Cricket Team doesn’t have that promising bowling lineup as we have seen Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel are not that effective.
The management will have to go back to the drawing board and figure out the issues. There’s no doubt that India has a great pool of fast bowlers but directly playing them in an ICC tournament is risky. In Australia, the pacers are going to be quite pivotal to the team’s chances due to the nature of the pitches.
Aakash Chopra on Jasprit Bumrah
Aakash Chopra made some interesting comments on Jasprit Bumrah on his YouTube Channel. “Personally, Jasprit Bumrah is irreplaceable. But we have to look at India’s record with or without Bumrah. It’s not that different. All is not lost when we compare the stats of how India has fared with or without Bumrah in the past one year. India has been decent,” said Aakash.
“The important thing to note is though that the team knows how to win without him as well. In fact, in the past year, Bumrah has played 10 matches (5 each in 2021 and 2022) in the past two years,” he added.
Jasprit Bumrah A Match Winner
The right arm pacer can turn the match in a couple of balls. Bumrah is someone who will always keep the batter guessing as he has a lot of variations and his action helps him a lot. There’s no doubt that Bumrah is irreplaceable and at the same time the replacement for him could prove to be a match-winner; one of Shami or Deepak is likely to get drafted into the main squad.
Rahul Dravid & Rohit Sharma has shown that they have got answers for all uphill challenges. The Recently Asia Cup 2022 may seem that India lost badly but the Men in Blue were not ready to give up. The fans are eagerly waiting for an official confirmation regarding Bumrah’s injury as still there is uncertainty.
