Jérémy Toulalan is a French footballer currently playing in La Liga for Málaga CF. Despite having a defensive midfielder’s profile, he can also play as a centre defender. His timid and humble manner, simple distribution, solid technique, and excellent tackling are his most well-known qualities. Toulalan is a product of FC Nantes’ development system, making his first-team debut against Rennes in the annual Derby Breton in 2001–02. He didn’t establish himself as a good midfielder until the 2004–05 season.He was named the UNFP Young Player of the Year and was also chosen to the league’s Team of the Year due to his impressive statistics. Nantes agreed to a cost of €7 million on May 17, 2006, and Toulalan agreed to a four-year contract, making him Lyon’s first summer acquisition of that season. In a 3–1 victory over Nantes, he made his competitive debut for Lyon, playing the entire 90 minutes. During the season, he was a significant player in helping Lyon win their sixth consecutive league title.Toulalan was one of four players nominated for the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Year award for his efforts during the 2007–08 season. Málaga CF and Lyon finalised the sale of Toulalan for €10 million for four seasons on June 11, 2011. He scored the game’s first goal with a header in a 2-1 home win over Villarreal CF on November 28, 2011, and was subsequently sent off during the game. Toulalan is a former youth international for France. He made his senior international debut in October 2006 and has since competed in two international tournaments: the UEFA Euro 2008 and the FIFA World Cup 2010.
