New Zealand and Bangladesh go head to head in the 5th T20I of the tri-series in Christchurch on October 12. The Kiwis won their previous match against Pakistan by nine wickets. Both Pakistan and Pakistan have won two out of their three games. Bangladesh has lost two out of two.
Bangladesh now have two games remaining and needs to win both of them to make a case for playing the final on October 14. All three teams play each other twice with the top two teams playing the final on October 14.
New Zealand have lost just two T20Is this year. They have played 12 games in total. They have won against West Indies, Ireland, Scotland and Netherlands throughout the year. They were the finalists of the T20 World Cup 2021 and will enter into the next T20 World Cup as the dark horse.
New Zealand who lost their previous match against Pakistan outplayed them with a clinical performance in their last one. Pakistan scored a paltry 130 for 7 which was chased inside 17 overs by the Kiwi batters. Against Bangladesh, in their previous match, New Zealand won the match by 8 wickets chasing 138.
“An improvement again from the last game, nice to adjust to the conditions, clinical with the ball and we used the big side and the wind as well. Finn broke the back of the chase by being super-aggressive and Devon complemented him nicely. We thought it might suit it, we were limited with our other seam bowling options at the moment as we make sure to look after them through this period which is pretty hectic.”
“It’s great that there’s a number of players in different roles, on this surface we want to address what’s in front of us and we did that pretty well,” said Williamson after their win against Pakistan.
