Ousmane Dembélé is a French professional footballer who has represented both the French National Team and the Spanish club FC Barcelona. He was born in Vernon, France, on May 15, 1997.

Career

Dembélé began his career at Madeleine Évreux when he was seven years old. After that, he stayed with the club for 5 years until going to Évreux. Between the ages of 12 and 13, he transferred to Évreux FC 27. A year later, Rennes welcomed him to their youth setup. Dembélé had to wait four years before making his club debut. On September 6, 2014, he made his debut appearance for Rennes’ reserve side as a 78th-minute replacement in the Championnat de France Amateur. Dembélé made his professional debut for Rennes’ first team in Ligue 1 against Angers on September 6, 2015, coming off the bench in the last 5 minutes.

Dembélé signed a five-year contract with Borussia Dortmund in Germany on May 12, 2016. He made his debut in the DFL-Supercup on August 14, 2016, in a 2–0 loss to Bayern Munich. He joined Barcelona in August 2017. A month later, on September 9th, 2017, Dembele made his debut for the Spanish club.

He made his France debut against Italy at the Stadio San Nicola on September 1, 2016. In 2018, he was also a member of France’s World Cup-winning side.
