Paul Pogba is a French professional footballer who was born in Lagny-sur-Marne, France, on March 15, 1993.

Pogba is a midfielder for Manchester United in England and the French national team. He is a centre midfielder who can play attacking or defensive midfield depending on the scenario.

The Frenchman is a strong box-to-box midfielder with the ability to capture quick attention with his deft play, inventive playmaking, and goal-scoring prowess.


Pogba began playing football at the age of six, and he used to play for US Roissy-en-Brie at the time. Pogba opted to join Le Havre for professional football after his success at US Torcy, where he was the under thirteen captain.

On July 31, 2009, Pogba joined Manchester United’s youth team. He was summoned to join the first squad two years after his impressive run with the young squad, but he stayed with the youth side.


In the 2011-12 season, Pogba was promoted to the senior team on a permanent basis.

In January 31, 2012, he made his Premier League debut against Stoke City, coming on in the 72nd minute of the game.

Pogba made his international debut for France on March 22, 2013, in a 3-1 win over Georgia in a World Cup 2014 qualification match.

Rise to Glory

Pogba ultimately opted to transfer to Juventus in early 2012 after disregarding his Manchester United contract. His first goal came in a 2–0 win over Napoli, and he went on to have numerous game-winning performances that season.

Pogba was named Man of the Match against Lazio in August 2013, winning the match 4-0.

Later that year, he was crowned 2013’s Golden Boy for Europe’s greatest young talent.

Pogba has already made headlines and was regarded as one of Europe’s most promising young prospects. He was a vital figure in Juventus’ 2015 Italian league title win, as he led the league in assists. Pogba made 124 appearances for Juventus and scored 24 goals during his time there.

On August 8, 2016, the young Frenchman returned to his previous English club Manchester United for an extravagant sum of €105 million plus €5 million in incentives.

In the 2016-17 season, Pogba played 51 games in all competitions, scoring nine goals and assisting six times, proving to be a highly efficient midfielder for the Red Devils.

Pogba has already made 27 appearances for United in all competitions, scoring three goals and assisting nine times.

Pogba is an important member of the French national team, having been picked to participate in the 2014 World Cup and assisting France to many triumphs. In addition, he was named the tournament’s Best Young Player.

Despite a shaky start to Euro 2016, Pogba rediscovered his form in the quarter-final encounter against Iceland, which he won 5-2 by scoring and dominating the midfield.

He contributed to a win against Germany in the semi-finals by assisting Antoine Griezmann, but he lost to Portugal in the finals by one goal.

Low Points

Pogba’s career has been marked by one constant: a lack of discipline on the pitch. He is really vulnerable to receiving a card and does not always act in the most courteous manner.

After being hit in the face, he was accused of spitting on an opponent player and was sent off.

Football analysts have chastised him for his behaviour and disruptive personality.
