Azeem Rafiq, the former Yorkshire spinner had taken ECB by storm when he alleged Yorkshire for racism in September 2020. The former Cricketer’s allegations meant that the entire coaching staff and the board members were changed. He also stated that a lot of senior cricketers were also involved in racism.
Azeem has cited that he is facing threats and for the safety of his family, he has decided to shift abroad. CDC (Cricket Disciplinary Committer) had reprimanded 5 cricketers for their racial post in which Azeem was involved. Azeem accepted the charges and apologized for his anti-semitic comments.

The former Cricketer wouldn’t have thought that about this situation. The Cricketer hung up his boots when he was 30 years which is quite strange. Azeem Rafiq represented Yorkshire in 2009 where in the red ball cricket he had taken 72 wickets and scored 873 runs in 39 matches.
England Cricket in Tatters
The whole incident has tarnished not only ECB’s image but has raised questions about their culture. With the T20 World Cup just steps away, such sort of news can distract the team. There’s no doubt that ECB has loopholes in it; but due to this, the name of cricket is tarnished.
England Cricket Board is trying its best to remove racism as they announced an anti-racism policy. Earlier West Indies had started an initiative called ‘Black Lives Matter’ to tackle racism and discrimination. It looks like England also has to take this move because no individual should suffer because of his/her caste, creed, or religion.
