Amir Nasri is a French footballer who now plays for Manchester City in the Premier League and for the France national team. He’s mostly used as an offensive midfielder and winger, though he’s also played in centre midfield. Nasri began his football career in his birthplace of Marseille, where he played for local junior clubs. At a young age, he joined Olympique de Marseille and spent the following seven years growing up at the club’s youth programme at La Commanderie, the club’s training base.Nasri made his professional debut against Sochaux in September 2004. After appearing in the 2005–06 edition of the UEFA Cup, he made his first appearance in European competition the following season. Nasri was chosen to the Team of the Year and received the Young Player of the Year award from the National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) in the 2006–07 season. He has made over 160 appearances for the club throughout his stay there. Nasri signed a four-year contract with Arsenal in June 2008. On three times, he was named to the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Fans’ Player of the Month award, as well as the association’s Team of the Year. In December of that year,He was selected Player of the Year in France. Nasri signed a four-year deal with Manchester City in August 2011, and his first big achievement came in his first season, when the team won the Premier League in 2011–12. He was a member of the French young national squad that won the UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship in 2004. Nasri has played in two major international tournaments for France: the UEFA Euro 2008 and the UEFA Euro 2012.
