Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced that it has achieved its highest-ever annual net income of 6.3 billion rupees in the year 2022, a significant milestone for the Lankan cricket board. Sri Lanka Cricket attributed this impressive growth in net income to four key revenue segments, namely international cricket, domestic cricket, sponsorship contracts, and ICC annual member disbursements.

The board expressed its satisfaction with this achievement, highlighting that it is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the SLC team.

The 10-member committee, which is tasked with drafting a new constitution for Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), is headed by the retired Supreme Court judge KT Chithrasiri and comprises legal experts and former national cricketers, including Charith Senanayake and Farveez Mahroof.

Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe announced that he had sought guidance and expert advice from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to ensure that the new constitution is in line with global best practices. The minister is optimistic that the new constitution will be ready within the next two months, providing a clear roadmap for the future governance and management of cricket in Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) elections for office bearers have been plagued by controversy over the years, with many expressing concerns about the excessive number of votes and the possibility of malpractice, such as vote-buying, in order to further certain vested interests. This has led to a lack of transparency and fairness in the election process, resulting in a sense of unease and mistrust among stakeholders in the cricketing community.
