STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Jayde Adams has revealed she began her showbiz career performing as an Adele drag act.
The comedienne, 37, was working as a waitress while trying to launch a stand up career when she began imitating the superstar singer.
Jayde made the confession during an appearance on Strictly’s spin-off show It Takes Two and shared a picture of herself dressed as Adele.
She told host Rylan Clark: “I didn’t start off in a normal way doing stand up. Basically, I went through the gays, babe.
“One of them, when I was at home not knowing how I was going to earn money, said, ‘You look a bit like Adele’.
“And not wanting to get anymore jobs in cafes serving smashed avocado on rye bread to children as young as four who can’t have dairy anymore, I just thought, ‘I’ll do that then’.”

A black and white picture of Jayde as Adele, 34, flashed up on the screen and Rylan said he found it uncanny.
“I’m just a lip filler away from being Adele, babes!” Jayde told him.
Jayde is taking part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing with pro dancer Karen Hauer. They are one of three same-sex couples competing alongside 12 mixed-sex pairings.
The pair performed a Samba to Christina Aguilera Ft Redman’s 2002 hit Dirrty on Saturday night. They received high praise from the judges and scored a total of 23 marks.
This placed Jayde and Karen in ninth place on the leaderboard, out of 15 celebrities and their pro dancers.
While chatting to Rylan on It Takes Two, it was revealed the girls will be dancing a Tango to Adele’s song Rumour Has It this weekend.
Rylan told Jayde she has “come full circle”, while she admitted it will be ‘a moment beyond her wildest dreams’.
Strictly Come Dancing continues at 6.30pm, BBC1, Saturday October 1
