“Why Are You Running In A Relaxed Manner” – Diana Edulji Criticizes Harmanpreet Kaur And Accuses Her Of Being ‘Casual’ In World Cup Semi-Final

Former India captain Diana Edulji wasted no time in launching a scathing criticism of Indian women’s players following their T20 World Cup semi-final loss to Australia.

Because of India’s poor fielding and catching, Australia was able to post a challenging 172 for four when Meg Lanning chose to bat. India was struggling at 28/3 in the run chase, but Harmanpreet Kaur (52 off 34 balls) and Jemimah Rodrigues (43 off 24 balls) produced a counter-attacking 69-run stand off just 41 balls to get the side back in the game. India needed 39 off the last 30 balls with five wickets in hand, but the side fell short, finishing at 167 for eight.

During the match, the Indian team garnered praise from fans and veteran cricketers for their valiant comeback against the world’s top team, which has reached the final of every Women’s T20 World Cup since its establishment.

“She is thinking the bat got stuck”: Diana Edulji

Diana Edulji, a former captain of India, expressed her anger at the players after the team’s performance in the semi-final. Diana Edulji criticized Harmanpreet Kaur for what she claimed was a lack of effort that led to her being run out and criticized Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues for their shot choices. Alyssa Healy quickly removed the bails with the Indian captain out of the crease after Harmanpreet’s bat became trapped in the ground while returning for the second run in the 15th over.

“She is thinking the bat got stuck but if you see the second run she was jogging. Why are you running in a relaxed manner when you know when your wicket is so important? You have to play professional cricket to win. Look at the dive Perry made to save those two runs. That is what professionalism is,” Diana Edulji told PTI.

The match’s key turning moment was Harmanpreet’s run-out. The Indian lower-middle order broke down under strain after Harman was caught behind the stumps against the run of play, and Team India lost to Australia by a mere five runs in the Women’s T20 World Cup semifinal on Friday.
